LTO™ (Ultrium™) is currently the most popular tape technology for backup and archival. It is a high-performance tape technology offering versatility, reliability and performance. The latest technology (LTO4) gives, up to, an impressive 120/240Mb/s transfer rate and a compressed capacity of 1600Gb on one cartridge. This capacity can be further expanded utilising LTO within autoloaders and library drives, offering high capacities and high performance transfer rates. Previous LTO technologies, LTO-2 and LTO-3, are still currently available, allowing you to buy into the high performance and reliability of LTO, but at a reduced cost, safe in the knowledge that the LTO road map continues, so future LTO technologies will remain compatible with your current solution. |
