equipment to dealers and value-
added resellers throughout the
UK - and world-wide.
The in-house development of
a corporate website has
provided a major boost.
A letter from Peter Kay Produ-
ctions informed the judges
that Craystone had designed
a website for the comedian
(www.peterkay.co.uk) and
sold him numerous items of |
computer gear over the last
couple of years.
"They are the nicest couple of
business people I have come into
contact with," Mr Kay wrote.
He said the downside of becoming
"pretty well-known" was that peo-
ple seemed to assume he was
loaded and tried to rip him off.
"I'm a comedian not an idiot," he
said.
"It is refreshing to deal with a
company which treats me like a
normal person and gives me good
prices and good service."
Mr Jones and Mr Greeney both
aged 31, who have been friends
since their days together at West-
houghton comprehensive school,
formed the company in late 1992 at
the height of a recession.
It survived the bad times to
become a well-known and respec-
ted player in the computer
hardware market. |
Mr Jones said the firm had
proved a winner because it com-
bined his background in sales
with Mr Greeney's management
skills following a career as a car
hire manager.
Over the last 12 months the corp-
orate web site has helped the
business retain new clients within
the UK and abroad.
Mr Jones said: "We were hoping
for the award. it's the way forward
for us and a very nice bit of recog-
nition.
"Orders in the last few months
have been despatched to France,
Germany, Spain, Malta, Russia and
India along with enquiries that
could produce orders from as far
afield as Norway, the United States
and South Africa."
Mr Jones and Mr Greeney say the
business is built on the personal
service offered by the company. |
